Agogo DVD copy is a fairly average DVD copying tool which can be purchased as part of a suite of tools to handle a variety of different DVD ripping and copying tasks. There is nothing particularly bad about the software, but there are a number of small bugs and English mistakes which make the whole company seem slightly unprofessional.
The actual quality of the copies Agogo DVD Copy made was pretty good. Even when compressing a dual layer disc to fit on a single layer backup there was not much noticeable loss of quality on our standard television. When copying you can also choose which audio and subtitle tracks to include on the backup disc, but not which chapters and titles to include. This is a noticeable omission and it would make the software a lot more useful if you could choose which ones you wanted to keep in your backup copy.
Agogo DVD copy has a built in decrypter so that it can remove region protection and most types of copy protection which is essential if you want to copy commercial DVD movie releases. It seemed to work fine for the most part and the website states that you will get free updates to the software so that it can handle any new forms of copy protection which may arise.
The user interface to the application is pretty average; it isn't the best looking we have seen but it's not the worst either. It is easy enough to operate, even for computer novices, and so you should be able to start making copies in no time. It's just a shame that the application and the website suffer from the, sometimes nonsensical, English mistakes that software companies often make when English is not their first language. The feature list on the website also looks as though it may have been copied straight from another similar product's web site - or vice versa - which adds to the unprofessional impression we got.
On the whole Agogo DVD copy is an OK DVD copying tool if you can look past the poor English and slightly unprofessional feel that the company put across. You get the best value for money if you buy this application with some of the other applications from the same company, but otherwise we think the price is a bit high for such a basic tool. However, there is a free trial available which limits you to copying 30% of a DVD so you can make your own mind up.
