Never again will you have to worry about forgetting to put DVDs back in their cases or cringe as you watch your five year old spread peanut butter all over your collectors' edition of the Godfather!
DVD Cloner is an application that runs on your Windows based PC and allows you to easily make perfect backups of all your favorite DVD movies. It really is as easy as one click and then you can go off and have a coffee while your computer does the work. This is thanks to the clever SmartAnalyser™ technology which automatically detects what type of disc you have inserted and provides you with the appropriate options and best settings for copying it. One click and then you have a perfect 1:1 copy in the making.
The software works with both DVD-9 and DVD-5 formats and recognises any region coding on the DVD. When you make a copy the region coding is removed as well as any other protection that would stop the DVD from working in a normal DVD player. This means that the disc will work in pretty much any player you put it in. This can be really handy if you are a fan of foreign movies which perhaps don't have a release in your country's format, meaning that you don't need to mess about with different players to watch your movie collection. What's more is that you can take two standard DVD movies and fit them both onto one backup writeable DVD while customizing the title menu!
As well as doing straight forward disc to disc copying, DVD Cloner can backup movies to your hard drive. This part of the software even works with HD-DVD and Blu-ray movies - although you can't yet burn them to disc without converting them into a different format. Movies can be backed up as straight forward video files or as disc images which can be burned at a later time. Included with DVD Cloner is some third party software which enables you to convert your backed up DVDs into any other video format to save space or use elsewhere.
While we are on the subject of conversions, we should point out another great feature of DVD Cloner. If you spend a few dollars extra and go for DVD Cloner Platinum instead you also receive a copy of iPod Cloner in with your order, which gives you the ability to copy a DVD movie straight to your iPod without the need for iTunes. The software handles all the behind the scenes fiddly converting and leaves you with a perfect copy of the movie on your iPod! We think this is ideal for anyone who likes to do their daily commute on the bus or train while watching a movie or two from their collection.
One of the best things about DVD Cloner is its simplicity, and this is reflected in its user interface. There are two modes, express and expert, which you can select from when you start the application. Express mode gives you access to the one-click copying feature we mentioned earlier, while expert mode provides you with the full range of settings that DVD Cloner allows you to alter. Even if you know what you are doing with the software, there is usually no need to even start expert mode to do a straight forward copy, as the software will choose the best settings all by itself. Both interfaces are very well designed and look great - well the suave looking character in the tight leather jacket is a bit silly but if you can get past that it really does work well.
That about sums up why we think DVD Cloner is the best DVD copying software around. It's got lots of great features, it's remarkably easy to use and comes at a very reasonable price.
