ICOPYDVDs2 is a fairly standard DVD copying tool which also comes as part of a suite of tools to help you handle other conversion and copying tasks. The variety of different versions available makes it slightly confusing to know which to buy, but in the end there isn't much difference and, whichever one you choose, it will make a decent quality DVD copy.
Each different version of ICOPYDVDs2 uses the same underlying burn engine which lets you choose the usual types of options when copying a DVD. The software will automatically detect the size of the target disc and fit the backup to it so that you make the best use of the available space. With the standard edition you can choose to include the bonus features or not, but the basic edition doesn't allow you to do this. As far as we can tell that's about the only difference between the standard and basic editions - which you are expected to pay an extra $20 for.
If you upgrade even further and go for the professional or ultra editions you also get a copy of Burn Suite (developed by the same company) thrown in. The version of Burn Suite depends on whether you get pro or ultra, but either way it is a simple CD/DVD burning tool that doesn't do that much more than the standard Windows burning options. And, in case you were wondering, you don't get any extra DVD copying options with the pro or ultra versions so you are really only paying the extra to get Burn Suite thrown in.
The interface ICOPYDVDs2 provides is pretty much the same across all versions. It's not the worst we have seen, but not the best either, and although useable enough, it could perhaps do with a bit of tweaking to make it a bit better. The one click copying option is quite useful, but it would probably be more useful to have control over exactly which parts of the DVD get copied - for example when you are copying an episodic DVD.
ICOPYDVDs2 is an average DVD copying tool if you go for the basic edition. Anything above that and we would say it is grossly overpriced for the quality of the product you are getting. However, there are free trials available of the basic and standard editions so you can make your mind up without it costing you a penny.
