Joboshare DVD Copy is a well made and easy to use DVD copying application which allows you to make good quality backups of your DVD movies. Although not produced by a well known software company Joboshare DVD copy is a professional looking application which should be able to handle all of your DVD copying needs.
Joboshare DVD Copy's main function is making straightforward disc to disc copies of your DVD movies. It can handle dual layer to dual layer, single layer to single layer or dual layer to single layer copies depending on the type of backup discs you want to use. Compressing a dual layer DVD to a single layer backup disc naturally loses some quality, but it wasn't too noticeable on our standard TV. You can also choose just to copy the main movie, which is useful if you want to back it up to your hard drive and create your own custom DVDs. Joboshare's DVD Copy doesn't author DVDs itself, but the company does offer another application which can do this.
All the copies you make with Joboshare DVD Copy will be region free and copy protection free. The software can handle most common types of copy protection and seems to be updated reasonably regularly so if any new types come out it should be able to cope. The backups we made were all very good quality and did not take very long to burn.
Joboshare DVD Copy provides a good looking and easy to use interface to work with. It looks a bit like the Windows Media Player interface, but obviously provides all the options necessary to make DVD copies. A preview window lets you see which parts of the DVD you want to copy before you go ahead with the burn and another options panel allows you to select which language and subtitle tracks to include.
Joboshare DVD Copy is a reasonably priced and well designed application. It lacks a few of the features some of the more well known applications provide, but still should do everything you need to make good quality backups of your DVD collection. A trial version is available and, if it agrees with you, there are discounts to be had if you buy several tools in the suite at the same time.
