Super DVD Copy is a poor attempt at a DVD copying tool. It provides only the most basic of functionality, doesn't make good quality copies and is hugely overpriced to boot. The fact that it doesn't even have a website of its own and relies on various other methods to try and flog licenses should be an early warning sign that this is one to stay away from.
Super DVD Copy claims to make high quality 1:1 copies of your DVD movies, but in our experience the one copy we did get to just about work was pretty poor. It's also possible to back movies up to your hard drive, which seemed to work slightly better, but took a long time compared to some other products we have reviewed. That's about where the functionality list ends for Super DVD Copy; it doesn't even provide an option to compress a dual layer DVD to a single layer disc, which is a feature that is very useful for backing up commercial DVDs.
The backups Super DVD Copy makes are region free and copy protection free due to the built in decrypter. This means that they should play on most standard DVD players - but we had trouble getting some of them to work. It also took a lot longer than we would have expected to make the copy in the first place.
The user interface Super DVD Copy provides is ugly, but just about functional. For some reason the application uses a blue sky window background combined with a shimmering water effect for some of the buttons, which in theory sounds very nice, but in practice looks like a bad 80s video game. Also a couple of bugs showed up as we tried to make a copy, which may or may not be responsible for the coasters we burnt.
By now you should probably have guessed we are going to recommend staying away from Super DVD Copy. We quite frankly laughed out loud when we saw the price the software is being sold at and would urge you to look to our top ten list where you can get applications that are twice as good for half the price.
